The Problem: when full sun shines on the garage door sensors, the door will not close.
Various websites list garage door “hacks” such as holding down the operation button or manually closing the door to circumvent temporary issues with these sensors. These are not hacks. Other “hacks” suggested taping the sensors together. Also unacceptable.
For about $10 in parts from Amazon, an adjustable frequency pulse generator based on a 555 timer can be built to replace/bypass the infrared garage door sensors.
